There’s a lot taking root at Carey
Garden
Behind a 150 year old wall, situated just outside of Wareham, Dorset, sits 3.5 acres in the midst of transformation. Left untouched for more than 40 years, this garden is about to flourish again. Boundaries are soon to be marked by an edible hedgerow. Trees are being planted that’ll fruit the best of British, as well as roses, flowers and a vegetable and herb garden.

Community
Our Bioregion of The Purbecks - the plant life, soil, wildlife and humans that fill it - dictate a lot of the decisions made at Carey. From what we grow to the fertiliser we use, from how our surrounding woodland is managed to the skills we recruit. Understanding and building these connections and community is fundamental to our shared flourishing.
At Careys Secret Garden we offer a great volunteer programme. You are welcome to come and help out in the garden, socialise and learn about the project in a friendly and welcoming environment. From complete novices to garden enthusiasts, all are welcome. Find out more about Volunteering here.
